104. sagittarius full moon

It's easy to say "fuck what they think," but it's harder to actually LIVE in the freedom of your full, authentic self-expression. 

But uh... this moon is demanding that we do that. Not just for ourselves, but for all of us.

Today, June 11, we have a full moon in Sagittarius at 20º, opposite the sun in Gemini and square the North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo. The ruler of Sagittarius, big ol' Jupiter (we love you Jupiter!) has just moved into the sign of Cancer, where it magnifies and expands the realm of CARE FOR EACH OTHER. 

It also makes a tense, pivotal square to Saturn in Aries, which is the powers-that-be efforting to exert control in a highly domineering, militarized, warrior-like way. Trying to control the people rather than care for the people, if you will. 

On the personal level, we may be feeling some expression of this tension - where are we realizing that to care for the people (ourselves and loved ones), we need to deal with the tension of the forces that are trying to control and contain our life force - our truest self-expression? 

Sometimes, some of the powers that are constricting how free we are in our true voice and essence are actually inside our own minds. 

This moon is calling for expansion, yes, and it's affirming that there is some unique-to-you philosophy and way of being that is divinely assigned to you, that is fully yours to inhabit - AND this moon is also revealing where structural limitations (old agreements, relationships, jobs) and deeply held beliefs (especially those that aren't truly reflective of your essence) are keeping you from the POWERFUL fire energy that wants to express itself through your heart, voice and mind.

Here's my invitation for you: 

Don’t sacrifice your truth, self expression, growth and abundance at the altar of perceived judgment. Face the structures, take inventory of the old beliefs, and lean fully into the power of deep care, inclusion, wholeness and love to help you in showing up as yourself in the places you feel called to tend. 

You have every reason to feel fear in your body about showing up in your full medicine, power, gifts. Yeah, people have been censored, detained, canceled, or even unalived for full authentic self expression. There is risk, to be sure, at multiple levels.

Also, you’ve been conditioned to both doubt everything about your magic and also self aggrandize or self criticize depending on your identity positions and the beliefs associated with them fed to you by the dominant culture. There's undoubtedly a bunch of 'stuff' that comes up when you brush up against sharing more of your essence, ideals, and values.

You can feel justified in staying small because it's terrifying, you can feel safer maybe by not leaning fully into your weird publicly, you can stay masked or hold back what you want to say, especially the shit that you know some ppl won’t like, you can acquiese to the status quo, to the devil you know, to the way things are...

You can do that. I am not shaming you or judging you (or myself).

BUT - (big ugly but)

If you are going to show up and say anything at all in this online realms of conformity and spoon fed dopamine-dripping cocktail, the modern opiate of the masses - consider showing up so clear, bold and strong that you shake the trance of numbness and remind people that we are ALIVE here in this now moment.

Maybe think of this as theater for your most ridiculous human costumes; maybe take the risk to bring your full magic and medicine to the spaces you inhabit (if you’re gonna be there at all). Because every single breath is one closer to the grave and IDK if you’ve looked around but we are ALL running out of time so we may as well be who we are and do it out loud. That way our weird kin can find us and we can build a network of magical powerhouse mystics for the unchartered waters we are heading into. That way we can create a safer net for the loud canaries flying headfirst into the coal mines of this world and SINGING THE SONGS that we also feel reverberating in our beings.

Just saying.

On that note, 7000 humans are walking and driving to Rafah (Palestine) to break the siege on humanitarian aid enforced by the IOF at the border. 

Thousands of others are protesting in Los Angeles against cruel, inhumane and illegal 'immigration enforcement' and creating WALLS OF PEOPLE to protect the most vulnerable.

We are here, together, at a pivotal moment - and though you may not feel clear in just how the heart centered leadership, overcoming insecurities, honoring your true essence and spiritual philosophy that this moon is LIGHTING UP is connected to the above situations... well, maybe the moon will speak some insight into your being on that. 

Sagittarius invites us to embark on the quest for purpose. It asks, "who are you, and why are you here?"

In the very best way, I've been stretched thin lately. My client calendar is full to the brim, I've been called in to offer medicine work locally in a way I've been praying for, my kids are... kids (duh), my daily routine and rituals of movement and breath are getting truncated by the desire to serve as many folks as possible, and of course, what often comes onto the chopping block is my own creative time and space to nourish and nurture this pathway of self-expression.
