MISSION & VISION
Why I'm Here (and why you might be, too)
If you've found your way here, you're likely someone who wants to understand not just what I offer, but the living philosophy that informs it: the values, the intellectual roots, the ethical commitments, and the vision that animate every session, every astrology reading, every year of mentorship. What follows is honest, specific, and grounded in over a decade of practice, study, and service.
My work is simple and ancient: I help women trust themselves, so they can do what they came to Earth to do.
Hi, I'm Amelia Travis, MA, CSC.
Coach. Psychologist. Astrologer. Writer. Woman.
THE HEART OF THE WORK
Restoring balance to the feminine psyche
I'm here to help women trust their inner knowing, self-authority, and visionary leadership, to deconstruct harmful conditioning and overculture stories of womanhood, tend and unwind wounds of internalized misogyny and gender inferiority, and to remember and recenter the feminine face of the divine. To find and make meaning in relation to the soul's journey and human experience, restore harmony between body and Earth, and grow grounded in awareness of the deeply knowing Self.
The professional services I offer are just one pathway of tending these priorities. I am also doing this soul work in my personal life, marriage, parenting, friendships, and community. To participate in the broader decolonial initiative of unwinding patriarchy and seeding matrifocal values is to live in a way that honors women, children, Earth, and life.
My vision is a world in which well-resourced women change the world: not by adopting the values of the systems that harmed them, but by leading from a genuinely different foundation, one of partnership, reciprocity, seasonal intelligence, and deep reverence for life.

THE METHODOLOGY
The Soul-Centered Business Method
Proprietary framework developed by Amelia Travis
Mother River: An Intuitive Life & Business Plan (CIIS, 2025)
A soul-centered business is not a branding choice. It is a personal leadership philosophy and an organizational orientation that treats the business itself as a living entity with its own soul blueprint: one that grows, sheds, evolves, and serves something larger than profit. Conscious business is rooted in partnership culture rather than dominator culture. It integrates ethics, sustainability, longevity, and mindfulness into an approach to growth.
For the past 14 years, through Stoked Yogi (founded 2013), Amelia Travis Coaching (founded 2016), and Soul Journey Retreats (founded 2019), I have been developing, testing, and refining this methodology in real business conditions, with hundreds of real clients, in the real and often difficult terrain of building something that matters. The Soul-Centered Business Method operates from four foundational pillars:
Organic Intelligence
Leading from body wisdom, intuition, and the innate knowing that lives beneath strategy and data. Business decisions made from the ego alone are incomplete. The body, the unconscious, the stars, and the seasons all carry intelligence worth consulting.
Relationship Centered
Building a business whose foundation is genuine human connection: with clients, community, collaborators, and self. Commerce is, at its root, an exchange between people. When we center the quality of that exchange, everything changes.
Regenerative and Reciprocal
Creating structures of exchange that restore rather than deplete, for you, your clients, and the wider world. A business that extracts from its owner and her community is not sustainable. Regenerative practice asks: what am I giving back?
Seasonal Cycles
Honoring that business, like nature, moves through seasons of creation, expansion, harvest, and rest. Growth is spiral, not linear. The shame of inconsistency dissolves when we understand that winter is not failure: it is preparation.

THE FRAMEWORK
7 Keys of Soul-Centered Business
Proprietary to Amelia Travis · Mother River: An Intuitive Life & Business Plan (CIIS, 2025)
These seven keys emerged from years of working with women entrepreneurs across industries and life stages. They are not a rigid formula, but an orientation and compass for building a business that is genuinely, sustainably, unmistakably yours.
1. Foundation
Start from safety. Prioritize whole-self wellness. Get support. Identify your resources and create a simple, honest business plan. No soul-centered business can grow beyond the capacity of its owner to hold it. Begin with yourself.
2. Relationships
Tell your people what you do. Invite them in. Focus on human connection and a memorable client experience. Use word of mouth to build your community. The most sophisticated marketing strategy is still a distant second to genuine human trust.
3. Passion
Know your big why, your mission, and your vision. Embody them boldly. Share bravely. Confidence comes from action: practice growing it by courageously taking the next aligned step that gives you a flutter of aliveness. The world does not need more polished performances. It needs the real thing.
4. Heart
Soften your expectations of yourself. Be willing to forgive, pivot, and let go. Care for people and about the things that matter. Have integrity. A business run from the heart is not soft: it is powerful in ways that strategy alone can never be.
5. Voice
Clarify what you stand for. Share your core values. Speak about what makes you different. Humans connect through the power of story: tell yours. Express through the mediums that speak most to you and trust that it will find its people.
6. Intuition
Follow your inner knowing. Pay attention to dreams, late-night ideas, and recurring inspirations. If it feels off, don't do it. Innovation often begins from intuitive inspiration long before the market catches up. Your intuition is data.
7. Grand Design
Stay connected to the bigger picture and how your work fits into it. Trust the guidance you receive from beyond your individual mind. Lean into co-creating with the intelligence that animates this self-organizing universe. A soul-centered business is not just a livelihood. It is a legacy.
THE PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATION
On Shadow, Wholeness, and the Wasteland Within
The dominant narrative that Western humans have internalized for the last 2,000 years goes something like this: humans are separate from and superior to Earth and all its life forms. History is a linear march of progress fueled by endless economic growth. Problems can be answered by science and technology. This is the narrative that has led us to what ecofeminist author Sharon Blackie calls "the Wasteland": a world estranged from the sacred, from the Earth, from the unconscious dimensions of life that give it meaning.
Jung's observation is that the unconscious produces symbols and dreams in an effort to come into greater wholeness. This process, which he calls individuation, speaks to coming into a truer expression of the Self: the deepest essence and totality of who we are, encompassing both light and shadow, conscious and unconscious.
Shadow work, in this context, is not the excavation of flaws. It is the integration of what has been exiled. As Jung writes, we are all "everything in potential" and what we have placed in the shadow is always changing. The work is lifelong, evolving, and ultimately oriented toward what Jungian analyst Jolande Jacobi calls wholeness rather than perfection.
In the context of business, this matters enormously. The beliefs that prevent a woman from charging what she is worth, claiming the visibility she deserves, or trusting her own intelligence are not personal failings. They are shadow material: internalized cultural complexes rooted in centuries of systemic conditioning. As feminist scholar Maria Evteeva describes, internalized misogyny refers to feelings of self-hatred and inferiority women experience in turning aggression inwards, ascribing life challenges to their own perceived inadequacies rather than recognizing them as an imbalance in the cultural values prescribed to them.
The healing requires what Jungian analyst Marion Woodman describes as a willingness to "stay awake, to listen to what comes into consciousness, and to open to it." It requires becoming, as Jung puts it, a "holder of the opposites": capable of bearing the full complexity of who we are without collapsing into the light or the dark.

THE BODY AS WISDOM
On Sacred Embodiment
"Your body is not a commodity. It's not a meal ticket to living the life you want or a tool for homogenization. It is not an erroneously formed, defective, unacceptable burden, holding you back from shining your light."
— Amelia Travis
excerpted from Sensing the Self: Body-Based Knowledge as a Pathway for Change (CIIS, 2023)
As a mentor and coach, I support clients to come into a more embodied state through somatic practices for nervous system health and emotional regulation, parts work, vagal tone exercises, dance, yoga, body-based listening, and centering the wellness, wholeness, and intelligence of their bodies.
Embodiment is a state of being and a way of moving through the world by inhabiting the place where body and consciousness intersect. Working with embodiment means honoring that the body has knowledge and subjectivity: and that for women-bodied people in particular, the body has often been ignored, neglected, denied, shamed, extracted from, commodified, or otherwise harmed, rather than listened to and cared for with loving attention.
Embodiment involves widening awareness of the felt-sense field: interoception, proprioception, sensation, temperature, texture, light, color, and sound. It means presencing the organic intelligence of sensation and perception equally with the cognitive, analytical mind.
In the context of business, embodiment is the foundation of sustainable, authentic leadership. A woman who has learned to override her body's signals in the service of productivity will eventually face a reckoning. The exhaustion that won't lift. The contraction before every launch. The chronic depletion that strategy alone cannot fix. These are not failures of discipline. They are somatic data, carrying important information about alignment, safety, and the nervous system's capacity to receive.
EARTH AS TEACHER
Rematriation, Organic Intelligence, and the More-Than-Human World
My current research explores the transformative potential of psilocybin-supported feminine rites of passage as a pathway to ecological and spiritual renewal.
Rematriation refers to the process of returning to a sustainable, nurturing way of living infused with reverence, relationality, responsibility, reciprocity, and respect for Mother Earth (Sogorea Te' Land Trust, 2023). Like the rhizomatic growth patterns of fungi, which spread without hierarchy, give back to the Earth by transforming what is dead into new life, and facilitate cross-species communication, rematriation means dissolving hierarchical belief systems that support interspecies domination and weaving ourselves back into the web of life.
This is not abstract. It shows up in how I structure my business: the sliding scale, the retreat in Portugal, the moon cycles that shape the rhythm of our sessions, the refusal to build systems that extract from clients or from myself beyond what is regenerative.
As Sophie Strand writes: "We are ground people who have been worshipping sky stories not properly suited to our relational experience rooted in the land. Sky gods encourage linear thinking. Spore gods teach us that everything is cyclical." (Strand, 2022)
The soul-centered business is a spore god kind of business. Cyclical, rhizomatic, regenerative, and oriented toward life.

THE MONEY CONVERSATION
On Money, Mindset & the Matriline
"What if your money struggles are actually not your fault? What if all the guilt, shame, fear, constriction, confusion, and distortion wrapped up in your money story wasn't ever really yours to begin with?"
— Amelia Travis
excerpted from Mother River: An Intuitive Life & Business Plan (CIIS, 2025)
When I say money mindset, I mean the personal and specific framework of financial beliefs and behaviors that prioritizes, directs, and shapes how you earn, spend, and save. It is charged with conditioning and values, both conscious and unconscious. In my work with clients, we explore five dimensions:
Values Alignment — seeing money as a tool and energetic partner rather than a reflection of self-worth. Money is not moral. It is neutral. What we do with it is where the ethics live.
Empathy and Equity — acknowledging systemic oppression and disparities in wealth distribution, particularly those which impact women and people of the global majority. Individual money struggles do not occur in a vacuum.
Mindful Consumption and Financial Integrity — spending wisely with a sense of voting with your wallet. Every purchase is an act of alignment or misalignment with your values.
Somatic Self-Trust — exploring the body-based trauma patterns that affect relationship with money. The nervous system's tolerance for abundance is shaped by experience, ancestry, and the encoded memories of generations before us.
Redefining Wealth — returning to the original etymology of the word: wellness. How can we resource ourselves, financially and otherwise, to experience harmony, peace, comfort, grounded abundance, generosity, and overall well-being?
Epigenetic research shows that, regardless of how our genes are expressed, they are not fixed. We have the power and ability to change our genetic expression and heal these stories. It can be safe to be secure, to hold resources, to have a voice, and to live a beautiful, grounded, abundant life.
HOW I WORK
Approach and Ethics
Trauma-Informed Practice
Your pace is always respected. Nothing is pushed, forced, or extracted. Sessions are built on transparency about what we are doing and why, collaboration in setting the direction, and your empowerment as the authority on your own experience. I hold cultural humility as a practice, not a principle: recognizing that your history, your body, your ancestry, and the systems you have navigated are all present in the room. Safety is not a buzzword here. It is the foundation everything else is built on.
Consent and Partnership
All work is conducted within a partnership model, with mutual agreement and consent at every threshold. This is especially important in soul work, where the territory can become deep and unexpected. I will always name what I am noticing and ask before moving into it. You are the authority on your own experience.
Anti-Oppression Commitment
I acknowledge the unpaid ancestral debts that come with being a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied settler of European descent. I am committed to ongoing learning, active harm reduction, and the disruption of my own participation in racism, colonialism, patriarchy, and capitalism. A soul-centered business that ignores systemic oppression is not soul-centered: it is spiritual bypassing.
Sliding Scale and Accessibility
A sliding scale option is available for a limited number of clients each quarter. Financial barriers should not be the sole determinant of access to transformative support. Details are shared during the alignment call.
Scope of Practice
I am a certified spiritual counselor, transpersonal coach, professional astrologer, and trained somatic practitioner. I am not a licensed therapist or medical professional. If clinical mental health or medical support is indicated, I will say so clearly and provide referrals.

14 YEARS IN PRACTICE
A Business Built on Soul Work
The Soul-Centered Business Method was not developed in a classroom. It was developed in the field, across three distinct business ventures spanning 14 years of genuine entrepreneurial experience.
Stoked Yogi (founded 2013)
A global stand-up paddleboard yoga organization and one of the first certifying bodies in the field, training over 800 teachers worldwide and generating multi-six figure annual revenue. The core lesson: it is possible to build something new, something that didn't exist before, and make it both meaningful and financially abundant.
Amelia Travis Coaching (founded 2016)
A 1:1 coaching and mentorship practice serving visionary women entrepreneurs, coaches, healers, and change-makers. Over nine years, this practice has generated over $1.8M in revenue as a solopreneur and supported hundreds of clients to build soul-aligned businesses that sustain and nourish their lives.
Soul Journey Retreats (founded 2019)
Sacred pilgrimage and retreat experiences: earth-based rites of passage for soul reconnection, healing, and consciousness expansion. Held in Portugal and internationally, these gatherings weave together breathwork, plant medicine, ceremony, movement, and the wisdom of the more-than-human world.
These three businesses are not separate ventures. They are expressions of the same soul blueprint, evolving with each season of life and learning.
My life is a living laboratory, exploring how good life can get when we show up, tell the truth, and remember that we are the living embodiment of creativity: beautiful, chaotic, generative, and infinite.
